At this time the COA pool on Rockford Drive across from Lakes E Building is closed due to unexpected maintenance. The pool was filled and ready to open on Tuesday May 20th. When the pool company came into check and clean the pool on May 20th the water had dropped over a foot, along with a cracked pipe was found on the pump. In response to the pump, the part has been ordered and will be shipped within two weeks. In response to the low water, the pool has been drained, once the pool dries, the pool company will re-calk and re-paint the pool to see if this resolves the problem. If the water drops in the pool again, then there is a possibility that a pipe may have broken underground and will need to be dug up and replaced. We suspect the pipe may be broken in the area where the tree root has pushed the concrete up and caused the ground to move. Timeline for the pool to re-open will be determined based off of what repair is needed. At this time, we suspect between two to four weeks before the pool will re-open.
